Amazon has unveiled its new Fire TV streaming media player, its most powerful one yet. And for the first time, it’s available not just in the United States, but in Canada, Germany, Japan, and the UK.
Boasting a hexa-core processor, the newest Fire TV Cube provides users with likely the best Fire TV experience to date. It has instant access to Dolby Vision along with 4K Ultra HD capability, 60 FPS streaming, and far-field Alexa-enabled voice control (processed directly on the device so it’s faster than ever), letting you play, pause, and scan content without ever touching a remote. For example, simply saying “Alexa, watch Stranger Things on Netflix” will turn on the TV and fire up the hit series where you stopped watching last.
The newest Fire TV Cube has a MSRP of $119.99.
With Fire TV, users can watch content from Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, HBO, SHOWTIME, CBS, Tubi, Pluto TV, and more. Live TV channels are available for customers with cable or satellite boxes from Comcast, DISH, AT&T and other providers.
Marc Whitten, Amazon Fire TV‘s vice president, commented that the Fire TV Cube was the first hands free streaming media player to be powered by Alexa, and “since launching last year we have gathered a wealth of feedback from customers about how they use voice in the living room.” Feedback from users helped add features like multi-room music, follow up mode, and Alexa Communications.
Amazon Fire TV Cube is available for pre-order now and will be released on October 10.
