AT&T’s Audience Network Unveils Original Series ‘Loudermilk’

With the success of the original content produced by big-name streaming services like Hulu and Netflix, many streaming services now realize that to stay competitive in the streaming wars, one has to produce top-notch in-house content. Actors, directors, and creators are also jumping from cable and network studios into the streaming world, ushering in a new golden age of television thanks to the streaming revolution. Not to be outdone by its streaming competitors, AT&T’s Audience Network has unveiled its latest original series, Loudermilk starring Will Sasso (MAD TV) and Ron Livingston (Office Space, Band of Brothers).

Loudermilk revolves around substance abuse counselor Sam Loudermilk (Livingston), an acerbic recovering alcoholic who has no qualms about insulting everyone and everything around him. Livingston says the role is unlike anything on television and offers a unique and fresh look at life as a recovering alcoholic. “It’s a comedy about recovering alcoholics, it’s something that I’ve never seen on TV before,” Livingston says, “Usually, if there’s something with recovering alcoholics, it’s like a very sort of melodramatic thing with Meg Ryan.”

Loudermilk is created and written by Peter Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber, There’s Something About Mary) and writer Bobby Mort, who won an Emmy for his writing on The Colbert Report. Both will also serve as executive producers on the series.

The Audience Network streams on DIRECTV NOW and features original series like Kingdom, Rogue, and You Me Her. Loudermilk will mark the first original comedy series debuted by the network.

Loudermilk will premiere Oct. 17 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on the AUDIENCE Network which is available on DIRECTV NOW.
