If you happened to miss it when FXX aired every single Simpsons episode in order back at the end of 2016, you’re in luck if you’re a Sling TV subscriber. Thanks to a new deal with FXX, you can create your own marathon.
Sling Blue subscribers now have on demand access to season 1 through 27 of the Simpsons. As the current season, 28, progresses, and seasons 29 and 30 come out, new episodes will be available on demand through Fox. The Simpsons is currently the longest-running scripted TV show in American television history, and is guaranteed to have at least two more seasons beyond the current one.
If you’re not familiar with Sling TV yet (read our review here), you really should be if you watch TV at all. It’s a cable alternative that gives you the same channels you get with cable, but a bill that’s a fraction of the cost. The base package costs just $20 for 30 live channels, with options to add more channels if you want.
“Taking an exhaustive look back at the series thus far, it is easy to see why it remains one of the longest-running, beloved and quotable pieces of pop culture,” a Sling TV release said. “Perhaps South Park summed it up best when one of the boys hatches multiple schemes only to be repeatedly told that The Simpsons already did it.”
To honor this new offering, Sling chose their favorite episodes from each season of the classic show. Topping the list was the very first episode, “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire.” Fan favorite “Cape Feare” from season 5 made the list, as did “King Size Homer,” “The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons,” “Lard of the Dance,” “HOMR,” “Behind the Laughter.”
If you’re interested in checking out the service, Sling does have a free one week trial you can take advantage of. That’s actually not enough time to stream all the episodes of The Simpsons, even if you watched 24 hours a day, but it’s probably enough to get you hooked.
