fuboTV could very well end up being one of the best all-around cable replacements on the market. What once was primarily a live sports streaming service has turned into a one-stop source for many of the most-watched networks on the market. fuboTV still boasts the exclusive sports channels it always has, but has just in the past year added A-list cable channels like MTV, BET, Comedy Central, CMT, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Paramount Network, TV Land, VH1 and more.
The latest fuboTV additions came just last week as Discovery, Inc. and fuboTV signed a multi-year deal to bring Discovery’s huge selection of content to fuboTV’s live streaming TV and on-demand platforms. In a press release, Discovery President of Affiliate Distribution Eric Phillips said that this deal continues Discovery’s commitment to brining its content to more subscribers. “Our partners at fuboTV are building a unique programming service, and we are pleased to bring more of our portfolio of real-life passion brands and programs to their subscribers,” Philips said. “This agreement further exemplifies the viewer affinity for our beloved brands and talent, and fuboTV’s commitment to offering high-quality, world-class content to customers.”
Discovery and fuboTV say that the “fubo Standard” base package will now include Discovery Channel, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Animal Planet, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network and MotorTrend. That package already included HGTV, Food Network, and Travel Channel, which are already among fuboTV’s top performing entertainment networks.
In addition, the fubo Extra ($5.99/month) will be picking up Science Channel, Destination America, Discovery Family, American Heroes Channel, and Discovery Life, joining DIY Network and Cooking Channel. fuboTV’s Spanish-language packages “Latino Basic” and “Latino Plus” will add Discovery en Español and Discovery Familia. The move will also include a huge selection of on-demand content from various Discovery properties, boosting fuboTV’s already formidable on-demand library.
fuboTV subscribers can expect to see these new channels added to their fuboTV channel list in the coming weeks.
