Report: 41% of Netflix Subscribers Use the Service Every Day

Netflix is becoming part of our daily routine.

According to a Cut Cable Today survey, 41 percent of Netflix subscribers said they use the service on a daily basis. The site surveyed 616 individuals about their streaming habits.

The survey found that if the estimated 81.5 million Netflix subscribers don’t use the service daily, then they certainly do weekly, at 38 percent. About 20 percent said they use Netflix at least monthly.

The best guess as to why people fire up their Netflix account on a daily basis is likely due to the service’s programming. This year alone, Netflix plans to spend $6 billion on content, which includes their hit originals “House of Cards” and “Orange is the New Black.”

For now, Netflix is clearly the dominant leader in the streaming industry, but the likes of Hulu, SlingTV and Amazon Prime are catching up.

Earlier this month, Hulu announced plans to offer a live-streaming bundle of channels. It’s being called the closest thing to a cheap, cable-like package. By offering live options plus their growing library of on-demand content, Hulu could take a leg-up on Netflix as the go-to streaming service. The service is due out some time later this year.
