Netflix is getting nasty on data caps.
In a complaint to the FCC, the country’s top streaming company spoke against companies like Comcast that institute date caps on internet usage.
“Data caps and usage based pricing discourage a consumer’s consumption of broadband, and may impede the ability of some households to watch Internet television in a manner and amount that they would like,” the complaint reads.
CBS News reported on the complaint.
Netflix says data caps “do not appear to serve a legitimate purpose” and do not help manage traffic.
Comcast’s data capping practices have received the most ire. More than 13,000 complaints were filed with the FCC last year.
Some estimate that Comcast is marking up its internet service by nearly 2000 percent through data caps.
