Staying on top of the newest releases from Netflix just got a little easier for certain customers. The feature has been in testing for a few months with a positive response from viewers, so it’s now coming to the main app. Right now, it’s only available on smart televisions, gaming consoles, streaming devices, and Android devices. An iOS version is on the way soon.
If you have a device that allows for this feature, you’ll see a “Latest” sidebar that shows the newest released titles. Under that, you’ll see a “Coming This Week” section that shows a list of all programming scheduled to drop that week, a brief summary, and trailers for each. The titles will be updated daily, and will be personalized for each profile. The feature is more or less similar to watching previews in a movie theater, but with users making a conscious decision to watch.
Maybe the best addition though, is the option to set a reminder about a program. If you find something you want to watch later, just select “Remind Me.” Once that content is actually available, you’ll be notified on your Netflix home screen (or through a push notification on the app) and the content will be added to “My List.”
