New Pricing, Programming, Release Date Details For NBC’s ‘Peacock’ Streaming Service

Thanks to some info from a NBCUniversal investors meeting, we have a few more details about the company’s upcoming streaming service, called “Peacock.”

Peacock is expected to launch July 15 of this year, with Comcast customers getting access two months early on April 15th. The price will be $4.99 a month for an ad-supported version and $9.99 for an ad-free version. Comcast customers and Cox cable customers will get access to the ad-supported version for no charge and can get the ad-free version for just a $5 upgrade.

If you haven’t heard, the service actually has a robust lineup of original content, including


  • Rutherford Falls – (starring Ed Helms, reuniting him with The Office’s Mike Schur) A resident in a small New England town who has difficulty adapting to life’s changes
  • Straight Talk – Rashida Jones and Jada Pinkett Smith in a classic “odd couple” setup
  • Saved by the Bell – A reboot of a 90s favorite with some original cast members
  • Punky Brewster – Another reboot, starring Soleil Moon Frye
  • A.P Bio – A new season of the NBC series
  • Psych – The second movie spinoff


  • Dr. Death – Based on the popular true crime podcast
  • Battlestar Galactica – Again, a reboot of the popular series
  • Brave New World – Based on the dystopian novel by Aldous Huxley
  • Angelyne – A series from Emmy Rossum
  • One of Us Is Lying – Based on the New York Times young adult best-seller


  • A Saturday Night Live docuseries entitled “Who Wrote That “
  • A talk show series with Jimmy Fallon
  • A weekly late night show with Amber Ruffin
