Streaming your favorite shows with the Playstation Vue just got a little easier as Sony has announced that PlayStation Vue app is now available for Android television, and a web browser version is on the way soon.
Also on the way, Sony said, is the capability for PS Vue users to access the service through a PC or Mac browser. Browser versions will have a “mini-player” feature where viewers can shrink the player to the corner of the browser window and surf online as usual.
To run the Playstation Vue app, an Android TV device will need to be running Android OS 4.4 or higher. While the “PlayStation” name gives the impression that a PlayStation 4 game console is required, it’s actually not.
Customers who already have a PS Vue account can begin streaming TV by simply downloading the PS Vue app to their Android TV and logging in. Subscribers who are new PS Vue can take advantage of a seven day free trial that’s available through the PS Vue website, then link that account to their Android TV.
