The company most well known for helping people organize media has dropped a free streaming service of their own – and it’s worth checking out. Earlier this year, Plex announced a partnership with several major studios, and revealed plans to had free, ad-supported content by the end of the year.
The end of the year is here, and the new streaming service from Plex is now live. Starting today, thousands of movies, TV shows, documentaries, musicals and more have been uploaded and are available for viewing totally free. The service is available in over 200 countries.
The content lineup is pretty solid too, with movies from major studios like MGM, Marner Bros. and Lionsgate. A quick glance showed titles like Rain Man, Raging Bull, Apocalypse Now, Terminator, and Evil Dead. If you’re a fan of holiday movies, there’s a generous offering of those as well.
You won’t find a lot of current shows or movies, but that’s more than okay for a service that’s free of charge.
To start watching, add the Plex channel to your streaming device or head over to www.plex.tv and sign up.
