Actual football may or may not be happening this fall, but NFL fans will at least have some football action to watch for free thanks to Pluto TV.
In 2019, the NFL and Pluto TV created “NFL Channel” on the streaming service. The channel carried classic games, NFL Films movies, season recaps, highlight shows, previous seasons of the Hard Knocks series, press conferences, and more. And now the two parties have re-upped their deal to keep the channel going.
Only now though, new content is on the way, including “NFL’s 100 Greatest,” “NFL 100 Generations,” “Sound FX,” and more. Should the upcoming football season get shut down, there’s a good chance these shows will be even more popular. New content will be added fairly regularly.
Jesse Wallace, the NFL’s vice president of affiliate sales and distribution noted that NFL fans “enjoy having access to our classic games and programming year-round, and we’re proud to give Pluto viewers access to more exciting content from their favorite teams and players.”
ViacomCBS (who owns Pluto TV) currently has the rights to air NFL content, so they’re using all of their possible outlets to keep fans happy, even airing games on CBS All-Access.
At present, Pluto TV has more than 24 million active users, making it one of the more popular streaming services.
