Sling TV Adding Spanish Language “HISTORY en Español”

Sling TV has been shuffling their channel lineup recently, and now it appears they’re adding to their Spanish language offerings. Customers who are signed up for Sling’s Spanish package can now get a little dose of history for no extra charge. The company announced this week that they were adding HISTORY en Espanol to their Best of Spanish TV service. It includes the 24/7 live network, plus a large library of on demand content for only $10 a month as a standalone package, or just $5 a month on top on another package like Sling Orange or Sling Blue.

Debuting in 2004, the network airs top History channel shows like Pawn Stars and Counting Cars in Spanish and also has popular Spanish language docuseries. It does differ from the main English channel, often showcasing original programs that spotlight Latin roots and culture. History en Espanol lets viewers to watch over the air content up to three days past the air date as well.

Sling touts this as “the only OTT television service that offers Spanish-language programming based on region, with content in both Spanish and/or English and genre-based add-ons to get the content you’re interested in.” Their Best of Spanish package includes content from networks like Univision, beIN Sports en Espanol, Galavision, UniMas, Univision Deportes Network and others.
“Committed to giving Sling Latino customers choice and variety in their TV experience, History en Espanol rounds out an already robust Spanish-language offering,” said Sling’s general manager of Spanish language marketing Jose Romero.
The Spanish television market overall has been growing at a rapid pace as of late, and as more people are looking for alternatives to cable, expect the focus on international programming from streaming services to continue. Sling’s Spanish language add on has proven quite popular, as have offerings from other streaming television providers.
