Sling TV rolls out free streaming for people stuck at home

As more and more communities become affected by the recent Coronavirus outbreak, companies are encouraging people to either work from home or simply stay home.

Sling TV is doing their part by introducing a “Stay in and Sling” program, which offers free news, movies, and shows to any new customer.

The service, which just launched March 18, includes live news from ABC and Fox News plus local Fox news in 18 markets: Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Houston, Detroit, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco and Seattle.

To take advantage, just download the Sling TV app to your smart TV or mobile device and click “Stay in and Sling.” You can also access the content on Sling TV’s website, watch.sling.com. You don’t even need to set up an account!

A quick glance showed popular TV shows like Hell’s Kitchen, Roseanne, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and Grounded for Life, plus a wide range of action/horror/comedy movies and live television including game shows and talk shows. It’s content that’s similar to a lot of other free streaming platforms, but there’s nothing wrong with having another option.

If you’re already a subscriber, you can browse the free content without affecting your current subscription. It’s worth noting that this is for a limited time, but it’s certain a welcome offering for many people suddenly stuck at home. And, of course, it doesn’t hurt Sling TV to have a lot of new eyeballs on their service.
