As the majority of America still sits under stay at home orders, many people have reached the end of their streaming queues and are trying to find something new to watch. If you’re out of things to watch and are longing for the days of live television, Sling TV is here to offer a little comfort with a nightly “happy hour.”
No, it’s not a traditional happy hour with discounted drinks, but it’s an offer of absolutely free live TV – more than 50 channels to choose from. And just like regular happy hours, it’s not limited to 60 minutes.
From 5 p.m. to midnight each night, Sling TV’s “Happy Hour Across America” lets viewers watch dozens of live TV channels including FX, HGTV, A&E, Bravo, BUZZR, ABC News, CNN, AMC, E!, FOX News, TLC, HLN, MSNBC and more. Access to a catalog of 50,000 is included, as is free cloud DVR and viewing on up to three screens at the same time.
The offering appears to be similar to the Sling Blue package, which usually costs $30 a month.
You don’t need any special equipment to watch but you will need to create an account. Once you’re logged in, navigate to the “Watch Free Live TV” tab and you’ll be greeted with your no-charge content.
The happy hour is a part of Sling TV’s larger “Stay in and Sling” initiative, which just as the name implies, encourages people to settle in on the couch instead of heading out.
