Are you the type of person that tried to convert your friends from paying bloated cable prices to low-priced streaming bundles? Then you’re about to be rewarded for that (beyond the satisfaction of helping people save money).
Starting this month, Sling TV is rolling out a new “refer a friend” program. In short, if you’re a current Sling TV subscriber and you get someone else to sign up, you’ll get a $5 discount on your next bill. And your friend will see $5 off of their first bill once they become a paying subscriber.
If you’re ready to refer your friends to Sling, all you have to do is log in to your account on sling.com. You’ll see a “Refer A Friend” button that gives you a link you can share on social media or e-mail/text to friends and family. Once they receive the link, they can start building their perfect package (with prices that start as low as $20) and will be given the chance to sign up for a free 7 day trial.
Once that trial is up, if they choose to stay on, they’ll get the $5 credit on their first bill, and you’ll see it on your next bill.
The only bad thing is, you can only receive one $5 credit per billing cycle, and you can only get the reward for 12 billing cycles. Worth noting too is Sling’s caveat that the “Refer a Friend invitation must clearly state that you are eligible to receive a reward from Sling TV if your friend subscribes to Sling TV.” In short, if you don’t make it clear that you’re getting something from your friend signing up, you may get nothing at all.
But if you’re the social type who has influence over their friends, here’s a chance to get a cool $60 off of your Sling subscription, which comes out to a free 2 or 3 months depending on your package.
