Sling TV’s free ‘happy hour’ set to end this week

If you haven’t checked out Sling TV’s free “happy hour” every night, you’re almost out of time. The free promotion, which gives non-subscribers access to more than 50 live channels, is set to end May 15.

Sling TV started the offer about a month ago as a way to hopefully capture some new subscribers while everyone is stuck at home. From 5 p.m. to midnight every night, dozens of cable channels were available for no charge and with no subscription required.

Should you want to keep watching, you can get a Sling TV subscription for as low as about $20, but the free offering here was pretty much their Sling Blue package, which runs about $30 a month. There’s no extra equipment required to watch live TV with Sling TV, just their app on a smart phone or smart TV.

The company’s Stay in and Sling initiative, which offers on-demand content to non-subscribers, is still set to go on for a little while longer. With that promotion, you’ll get episodes of TV favorites like Roseanne, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and Hell’s Kitchen, plus a lot of comedy, action, and horror movies.
