If you can’t get enough of the Netflix smash-hit “Tiger King,” you’ll have your chance to dive a little deeper into the show’s world thanks to a new NBC series.
Titled “Joe Exotic,” the new series will actually focus not on the title character, but on his nemesis Carole Baskin (played by Kate McKinnon) and her efforts to shut down the infamous animal sanctuary. The show will air on cable on the NBC and USA networks, but for streaming, it will be found exclusively on Peacock.
The show will be based on a podcast of the same name. Ironically, there’s also Tiger King series in the works over at CBS, starring Nicolas Cage as Joe Exotic.
Even though the show’s zoo (The Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Oklahoma) has closed since the events of the Netflix series, it’s expected to remain in use as a filming location.
If you’re not familiar with Peacock, it’s a newer streaming service from NBC that’s the home of not only all the nework’s content, but a pretty robust library of other shows and films. There’s a free tier plus a premium tier, which starts at around $5 a month for the ad-supported version and $10 a month for the ad-free version.
