The BET+ streaming service from Tyler Perry Studios is just shy of its first birthday but it has already hit a big milestone.
After debuting in September of 2019, BET+ now has 1 million subscribers.
The service, which costs $9.99 a month, streams original shows and movies plus current and past BET content. Two of their original shows have already been renewed for a second season, and the service will host the highly anticipated “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Farewell Play” – a goodbye to his iconic character.
As a tribute to Madea, BET+ is unveiling a “Virtual Madea Museum” for a limited time. Users can follow the Madea story from the beginning in 1999 and see just how much of a legacy and cultural influence she’ll leave behind. There will also be limited-edition memorabilia for sale.
If you’re interested in test driving the service, it does have a 7-day free trial offer. BET+ has well over 1,000 hours of content and is available on Android, iOS, smart TVs, smart phones, tablets, and web browsers. It doesn’t offer any live viewing and it doesn’t have offline viewing like other streaming apps do, but it does allow two users to watch from different locations.
