Vizio SmartCast users are getting a little help killing time during quarantine. The company announced this week they’ve added 30 new streaming channels to the platform – and they’re all free.
The new channels became available April 7 and cover a wide range of content, from sports and outdoors, cooking, entertainment, crime, home improvement and more.
To get to the new channels, just navigate to the “Free Channels” row under the SmartCast home screen.
SmartCast users already had access to a bevy of free options through the “WatchFree” option powered by Pluto TV, which has over 150 streaming channels, including Spike Outdoors, Comedy Central Stand-Up, Nick Jr., Pluto Travel, and Fox Sports. Adding these channels though is nothing but welcome for users.
With the addition of these networks, Vizio joins a long list of companies offering free streaming content in an attempt to capture new eyeballs. Streaming is riding a huge wave of increase over the past few weeks, and with nobody anywhere for the next few months it seems, it’s only expected to keep growing.
