Even though they’re one of the newer streaming services on the market, YouTube TV is growing at an incredible pace. And that growth continues as they announced 14 more markets today – and 17 beyond that coming soon. That means YouTube TV will soon be available in more than half of US homes and has the most markets with all of the “big four” networks streaming live.
New additions to the YouTube fold include: Baltimore, Boston, Cincinnati, Columbus, OH, Jacksonville-Brunswick, Las Vegas, Louisville, Memphis, Nashville, Pittsburgh, San Antonio, Seattle-Tacoma, Tampa-St. Petersburg-Sarasota and West Palm Beach-Ft. Pierce.
In addition to the new markets, YouTube TV announced some new channels that are coming at no charge: news network Newsy and the Tennis Channel are available to everyone, and subscribers in Boston get NESN at no additional charge.
Beyond the 14 markets added today, 17 more markets are coming in the next few weeks, like Austin, Birmingham, Cleveland-Akron, Denver, Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo-Battle Creek, Greensboro-High Point-Winston Salem, Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon-York, Hartford-New Haven, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News, Oklahoma City, Raleigh-Durham, Salt Lake City, San Diego and St. Louis.
Nearly 50 networks are available in their base package, including local affiliates in many markets, plus plenty of popular cable networks like ESPN and AMC, and local NBC Sports in 13 markets and local Fox Sports in 22 markets.
One of the most popular features of YouTube is their cloud DVR, which has no limit and is totally portable to any device and any location. YouTube TV is available on almost any device, including mobile, tablets, and computers, and Google Chromecast and Apple TV devices.
With a subscription price that’s only $35 a month with absolutely no contact, it’s not hard to see why so many people are making the decision to cut cable. And if cable can’t keep up with streaming, the trend is only going to continue.
