Are you curious about all the buzz around Disney+? For all you Roku-users (or potential users) out there who are interested in getting access to the exclusive content Disney+ has to offer, keep reading for what we know about how to start watching with your entertainment setup.
What is Disney+?
Launched in November of 2019, Disney+ is Walt Disney’s streaming service that houses all of their original content in one convenient place. Prior to the launch, Disney pulled all of its content from other streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, so Disney+ is now the exclusive home to Disney original shows and movies, Star Wars, Marvel and more.
Watch Disney+ on Roku with these Roku models
If you already have a Roku player, or you want to get a new system, there’s good news. Disney+ can be streamed using the Roku platform. We recommend one of the newer models because older models like the Roku 1,2, 3 and 4 are supported by Disney+, but are no longer being manufactured by Roku.
These Roku devices support Disney+:
- Roku LT (2700X)
- Roku 1
- Roku 2
- Roku 3
- Roku 4

- 4K Roku Ultra LT
- Roku Streaming Stick

Unfortunately, that means some won’t be supported. You can’t watch Disney+ if you have 2400X, 3000X, 3050X, 3100X, 2450X, 2500X, 3400X or 3420X devices.
Step-by-step guide to streaming Disney+ on Roku
1. Sign up for Disney+
For the easiest sign-up process, use a browser to navigate to the Disney+ website. Choose to purchase the standalone service for $6.99/mo. or bundle your subscription with ESPN+ and Hulu for $12.99/mo. With your email address and credit card information, purchase your subscription and make an account.
2. Start up your Roku device
Turn your Roku device on and go to the device home screen.
3. Add Disney+
Select the Menu on the Roku home screen. Choose the Menu option “Streaming Channels” and search Disney+. Once you find it, select it and click Add Channel. This puts the Disney+ app directly on your Roku home screen.
4. Open the Disney+ app
In your Roku home screen, select the Disney+ app and enter your login credentials to access the Disney+ library.
That’s it. Once you’re logged into the Disney+ app on your Roku, you’re ready to watch all the shows and movies you want.
