HBO Max review

Home Box Office, or HBO, was founded by Time, Inc. and today is owned by WarnerMedia. The cable network has long been known for the latest hit movies, along with innovative, original content. Today, HBO is available in over 50 countries and owns seven different networks, which all run continuously and feature various themed programs. HBO created HBO Latino to accommodate its Spanish-speaking viewership with movies, shows and even boxing.

HBO is changing the way you can watch its content. Before HBO Max, you could stream HBO programming through HBO GO if you have a cable TV subscription, or you can watch on HBO NOW if you subscribe directly through HBO. With the introduction of HBO Max, however, HBO is doing away with HBO GO, and HBO Max streaming service will be replacing HBO GO entirely by July 31, 2020.

HBO has been providing home entertainment for over four decades, long before streaming services ever became available. Its award-winning content includes movies, series, documentaries and specials, having developed a reputation early on for its gritty, no-holds-barred attitude toward its in-house programming.

Why HBO Max may be the right streaming service for you

New to the HBO lineup is HBO Max streaming, the new, much-buzzed-about on-demand service with all of your favorite HBO content. With over 10,000 hours of available content, HBO Max features an extended library of hit movies and beloved classics, as well as all-new Max Original programming to offer something for everyone.

HBO Max bundles, deals and free trials

HBO Max is priced a little differently than the standard streaming service. Unlike services like Netflix and Amazon Prime, HBO Max is available on all of your favorite devices or through your cable provider for easier accessibility and better convenience.

You may already have HBO Max through your cable provider.

As the new replacement for HBO Now, HBO Max is already available through many cable providers. If you already have a cable TV subscription with HBO, you could have immediate free access to HBO Max streaming service through partnerships with Apple, Google Play, Samsung, Optimum, Verizon Fios Internet, Consolidated Communications and Liberty Cablevision of Puerto Rico.

HBO Max pairs with DC Universe.

If you are a subscriber to DC Universe, you can add HBO Max to your account for more streamlined viewing. Billing is made easier with just one charge, and you only pay $4.99 per month instead of the full monthly price of $14.99.

Take HBO Max for a test drive.
