STARZ live TV packages
Many streaming services offer the ability to add on a STARZ package for both live and on-demand viewing. STARZ’ monthly costs tend to remain the same, but some services charge a little more.

Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime’s STARZ costs an extra $8.99/mo. on top of your usual monthly fees. (Prime costs $12.99/mo. or $119/yr. Alternatively, sign up for Prime Video alone for $8.99/mo.) STARZ comes as a Prime Video Channel and is one of hundreds that Amazon Prime offers. Once you’re signed up, you can watch all of STARZ’ on-demand content and catch every STARZ network’s live East Coast feed too. Plus, with a full Prime subscription, you’ll be able to enjoy everything else Amazon Prime has to offer, including much-talked-about originals like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and free two-day shipping. Three simultaneous streams are allowed, and content downloads are also available for all your offline streaming needs.
AT&T TV NOW
AT&T TV NOW tends to be one of the pricier live TV streaming services. Its cheapest package, the Plus, costs $55/mo., while the most expensive, the Ultimate, will set you back $135/mo. Each package comes with different networks. For example, the Plus only has 45+ channels, and the Ultimate has 125+ channels, including STARZ. If you don’t want to pay for the Ultimate package, you can add more than 15 STARZ channels to any other plan for the slightly higher price of $11/mo. Subscribers also receive STARZ on-demand, 500 hours of recording storage space and three simultaneous streams.
Hulu
Before you can watch STARZ live and on-demand via Hulu, you’ll need to sign up for one of the service’s base plans. There are two options: the $5.99/mo. award-winning on-demand catalog or the $54.99/mo. plan, which combines the on-demand library with over 65 live TV channels. STARZ’ cost per month is an extra $8.99 on top of whatever plan you pick. As well as watching STARZ in the Hulu interface, you can also catch certain episodes before they air by using your Hulu login on the STARZ app. Hulu gives two simultaneous streams but does offer an Unlimited Screens upgrade for an additional $9.99/mo. (This allows you to use the service on unlimited home devices and three outside devices.) And you can record programs with the included cloud DVR. You’ll get 50 hours for free, and can boost this to 200 hours for an extra $9.99/mo.
Philo
STARZ is only a recent addition to Philo’s extras line-up. Sign up for the service’s usual $20/mo. plan and pay an extra $9/mo. for three live STARZ networks: STARZ, STARZ Encore and STARZ Kids & Family. Philo also provides access to 60 other live TV channels, with a big focus on entertainment and lifestyle rather than news and sports. But, for a low monthly price, you’ll receive pretty impressive features. Think unlimited DVR storage, three simultaneous streams and 10 individual user profiles per account.
Sling TV
Sling TV offers six STARZ channels as a $9/mo. premium extra: STARZ, STARZ Comedy, STARZ Edge, STARZ Encore, STARZ Kids & Family and STARZ West. As with every live TV streaming service, you’ll have to sign up for a base plan before being able to watch STARZ. Sling TV has two main packages and a third option that combines them both. Sling Orange features the likes of Disney Channel and ESPN, while Sling Blue comes with Bravo, FS1 and more. Both cost $30/mo. Alternatively, get the best of both worlds with the $45/mo. Sling Orange + Blue plan. Each allows you to watch live TV and content that’s aired within the past three days. DVR storage of 10 hours is included — increase it to 50 hours for an additional $5/mo. — and simultaneous streaming limits range from one to four, depending on your chosen plan.
Right now, new subscribers can get $10 off their first month and free access to Epix, Showtime and STARZ, for one month.
YouTube TV
Get access to more than 85 live TV networks, including news, sports and pure entertainment, with a YouTube TV subscription. Again, STARZ comes as an add-on, so you’ll have to pay an extra $9/mo. on top of the standard $64.99/mo. fee. But you’ll get access to all of the STARZ-branded networks, including East, West and Encore. Most people flock to YouTube TV for its unlimited DVR storage. Plus, you can use the service on three devices at once and create six personalized user accounts.
STARZ add-ons
Although live TV streaming services come with lots of add-ons, STARZ packages alone don’t feature any optional extras. It’s simple: what you see is what you get.
STARZ pricing compared
How much is STARZ? Well, STARZ’ price can vary. But, generally, live and on-demand options cost around $9/mo. Compared to other premium networks, STARZ packages are among the cheapest. HBO is the priciest, tending to charge around $15/mo., while Showtime costs around $11/mo. and Cinemax around $10/mo. The only other channel that works out cheaper than STARZ is Epix. Its streaming options are usually less than $5/mo.
STARZ | Cinemax | Epix | HBO | Showtime | |
Starting monthly price | $8.99/mo. | $9.99/mo. | $4.99/mo. | $14.99/mo. | $10.99/mo. |

The standard STARZ trial length is seven days. Both STARZ’ app and other streaming services tend to offer this, and it’s plenty of time to get a feel for the live and on-demand setup. In that timeframe, you’ll be able to get an idea of STARZ’ weekly schedule and watch a few titles whenever you like.
It’s worth noting that some streaming services come with different trial lengths. Sling TV currently only has a three-day trial, while AT&T TV Now doesn’t offer a trial of STARZ at all. (The only AT&T TV Now packages with free trials are the International, Max and Plus.) YouTube TV, on the other hand, features a whopping two-week trial.

Our hot take
A STARZ subscription costs less than $10/mo., making it ideal if you’re trying to save money for a first home or other big investment. The variety of ways to access the network’s live and on-demand content also means you’re not tied down to one method. If you want a more comprehensive TV experience, pair a STARZ package with a live TV streaming service subscription. But if you’re happy with your current TV line-up and solely want STARZ, go for the standalone app. Don’t forget to try the service for free for seven days and cut your STARZ costs with the current deals.
